Acute Aortic Syndrome
- AAS is a time dependent emergency of the aorta. It is often misdiagnosed. Until recently there were no agreed upon guidelines to aid in the risk stratification of patients for this deadly condition. This has led to a large practice variation and a high miss rate. Our group published the first canadian clinical practice guidelines aimed at improving the diagnosis and outcomes for this condition.
- Our research program focuses on the improvement of diagnosis of this condition using readily available signs and symptoms to risk stratify patients.
